Member Experience Associate

Engage people in ways that:Welcome: Smile, greet people by name, introduce yourselfConnect: Ask questions, share stories, introduce people to other staff and membersSupport: Affirm and encourage staff and membersInvite: Share opportunities to get involved and give back to the communityWelcome, greet, and check in all members and guests and acknowledge those exiting the facility. Receive telephone calls and provide membership and program information to callers.Be Knowledgeable and communicate with members and guests regarding program information, membership policies and procedures, and building schedules.Process new and renewal membership payments, register members and participants for all classes and programs, and update member information.Monitor the behavior of members and guests to ensure their safety; communicate with emergency dispatchers during an emergency and provide first aid as requested.At all times, model, reinforce, and abide by the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility and the YMCA Code of Conduct.Maintain strict confidentiality of all membership information.Perform daily closeout and a cash balance of money received during the shift and balance the cash drawer.Monitor the coffee station and prepare and serve coffee as needed.Keep the membership area and lobby area organized, clean, and functional.Participate as requested with the annual Partner with Youth CampaignAttending all staff meetings and training as requiredFlexible availability per agreement upon hireAdheres to all YMCA of Greater Flint policies (including the appearance policy), procedures, rules, regulations, and best practices.Other duties as assigned.Requirements Work effectively under stressMake good decisions and judgmentsWork well with people in ways that promote our causeEngage people in cause-driven way-welcome, connect, support, inviteOperate powered equipmentProficient in operating a computerSpeak clearly (Fluent English)Read & write (English)Stand/Sit/WalkBend/stoop/twist/push/pullUse cleaning chemicalsLift over 25lbsSee clearlyWork in air-conditioned and non-air conditioned areaWork in areas with noise level over 50 decibelsSalary Description$12.48/hr
