Recreation Department Maintenance Assistant - Afternoons

Position Summary: Reports to the Recreation Maintenance Foreman. This is an assistant maintenance position with the ability to utilize independent judgment after receiving general direction from supervisory personnel. Main responsibility is to ensure the routine completion of day to day routine and non-routine maintenance task to maintain recreation facility building operations with the understanding that the work to be performed will be carried out in a variety of conditions both indoor and outdoor including exposure to chemical and otherwise adverse environmental conditions.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
1. Perform all routine and non-routine functions required int he cleaning and general maintenance of public use areas of the building, including floor maintenance. Duties to include but not limited to the following: a. Daily cleaning of locker rooms. b. Daily Cleaning of restrooms. c. Floor maintenance. d. Vacuuming. e. Cleaning of rental rooms and room set ups. f. During winter months must be able to shovel/maintain walkways and clear entrances of snow around the building. g. Any other tasks assigned by the Maintenance Foreman.2. Primary shift for this position will consist of an eight-hour shift between the hours of 2pm and 12am.3. Ensure all work is accomplished in accordance within all required safety regulations/specifications.4. Maintain excellent public relations, by ensuring that inquires made by the public are answered and completed in a prompt courteous manner.5. Ability to perform work during non-traditional hours including nights, weekends and holidays as assigned.6. Available to work overtime (over 40 hours/week) as needed. All overtime worked will be at the approval of the Director of Recreation & Senior Services discretion.7. Work in a team environment with the ability to work with outer staff members in a professional and courteous manner.
