HVAC Technician

Position SummaryThe HVAC Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for commercial and industrial clients. This position plays a key role in ensuring that all systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards.Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnose and repair heating, cooling, and ventilation systems including rooftop units, chillers, boilers, VAV systems, and controlsPerform preventive maintenance to improve performance and extend equipment lifeInstall new HVAC systems and components according to specifications and blueprintsTest system performance using appropriate tools and adjust controls for proper operationMaintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and customer communicationsRespond promptly to service calls and provide exceptional customer serviceEnsure compliance with safety policies, building codes, and environmental regulationsCollaborate with other trades and departments to complete projects efficientlyProvide recommendations for system improvements and energy efficiencyQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or HVAC degree preferredMinimum of 3 years of HVAC experience in commercial or industrial environmentsEPA Universal Certification requiredValid driver's license and clean driving recordStrong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and schematicsExcellent communication and customer service skillsSelf-motivated, organized, and dependablePhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying environmental conditionsAbility to stand, climb, and work at heights for extended periodsWhy Join Smith & ObyAt Smith & Oby, we take pride in our long-standing reputation for quality craftsmanship and reliable service.
