About the Opportunity:The Assistant Controller supports the Controller in managing the accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls of a Strategic Business Unit. This remote role is critical for ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, timely month-end close, and continuous process improvements. The position contributes to maintaining financial integrity and supports decision-making through analysis and leadership of accounting staff.3. Responsibilities:Support and drive the monthly close process to ensure accuracy and timelinessMaintain accuracy of the general ledger, account reconciliations, and financial dataPrepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and internal management reportsCoordinate and support external audits with necessary deliverablesIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and shorten close cyclesSupport daily accounting functions and maintain internal controlsAnalyze variances between actual results and forecastsProvide financial insights to aid decision-makingSupervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff to foster accountability and improvementBuild and maintain a high-performing finance teamIdentify opportunities to automate and streamline accounting processesSupport ERP system maintenance or upgradesImprove reporting efficiency and data accuracy4. Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldAdvanced-level accounting experience in public accounting or industry environmentExperience in industrial services, construction, or energy sectors and multi-entity environments is a plusCPA designation is strongly preferredStrong knowledge of GAAPExperience with ERP systems such as MS Dynamics D365 is a plusAdvanced Excel skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesHigh attention to detail and accuracyExcellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with non-finance teamsAbility to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:The initial starting annual compensation will range from $137,500 to $158,100 based on experience and qualifications6.
