JMT is currently ranked #50 on Engineering News-Record's list of the Top 500 Design Firms.JMT's Construction Management Team is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector to apply standard inspection procedures to ongoing activities during and after construction for structural quality, general safety, and conformance to plans, specifications and codes.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesReview and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulationsPerforms routine tests on concrete, soils and other materialsMeasure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codesCoordinate and supervise project inspection activities to ensure contractor compliance of plans, contract documents, specifications and standardsAssign, schedule and maintain subordinate inspection staff throughout all phases of the projectWork on behalf of the Client to draft project correspondence, facilitate project meetings, and resolve construction related field issuesGathers and maintains record documentsMakes field notes and computationsInteract with the general public, government agencies, contractors, sub-contractors, and other internal and external parties to respond to inquiriesNonessential Functions and ResponsibilitiesPerform other related duties as assignedRequired SkillsClient requested certificationsStrong computer proficiencyActive driver's licenseMust successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screeningRequired ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent (may be substituted for experience)7+ years of roadway construction inspection experiencePreferred ExperienceAssociates or bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil EngineeringSupervisory experience in construction management/inspection situationsAbility to act in an Owner's Agent/Responsible in Charge roleWorking ConditionsWork is performed in the field. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed.
