Physician, Neurosurgery - Spine (Sacramento, CA)
Opportunity Information
We are seeking a board‑certified or board‑eligible neurosurgeon with a focus on complex cranial surgery to join a high‑performing, integrated neuroscience group within Sutter Medical Group. The primary practice location for this role is Sutter Medical Center Sacramento (Midtown Sacramento). This position will support comprehensive stroke care and advanced cranial neurosurgery across the Sutter Valley hospitals.
Qualifications
Board‑certified or board‑eligible in Neurosurgery
Clinical Focus
Open cerebrovascular surgery, including aneurysm clipping
Open and/or endoscopic skull base surgery
Management of complex cranial and skull base pathology in collaboration with multidisciplinary stroke, neurocritical care, neurointerventional, ENT, and trauma teams
Training and Experience
Fellowship training or equivalent experience in open cerebrovascular surgery and/or skull base surgery
Demonstrated experience with low‑frequency, high‑acuity cranial cases
Strong interest in collaborative, team‑based care within an integrated health system
Call Structure
Participation in a unified neurosurgery call panel. The neurosurgeon on call serves as the primary physician for neurosurgical emergencies, with established escalation pathways for rare, highly specialized cases.
Additional Opportunities
In addition to the primary Sacramento‑based practice, opportunities may exist for participation in cranial and trauma call at Sutter Roseville Medical Center, depending on interest, privileges, and system needs.
