Clinical Lab AccessionerJob Summary: Medical Diagnostic Laboratories(MDL), a member of Genesis Biotechnology Group, is a CLIA certified clinical laboratory with multiple state licensing, specializing in state of the art, automated DNA based molecular analysis of a variety of chronic and infectious illnesses.MDL specializes and performs Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) with a larger menu of testing available in the field of infectious disease. Our main theme of research is in the field of Gynecology, Infectious Diseases, Infectious Arthritis, Tick-borne Diseases, Mycology, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS).Essential Functions:Unpack FedEx Specimen deliveriesProperly count/compare the courier & field service technician specimens to route sheetsCorrectly identify all necessary information on a test requisition formMatch information on the test requisition with information on the collection vial for accuracyIdentify correct documentation and procedures for missing or discrepant informationDemonstrate proper use of dMDLProperly collate all paperwork received with specimen including requisition, checks, credit card forms, insurance card copies and prescriptionsDemonstrate proper use of MDL test codes and panelsProperly accession multiple types of specimen including blood, urine, swabs, CSF, synovial fluid, ticks, biopsies, etc.Properly take pictures of outside specimen vial/container for QC purposesProperly print labels and number of requisitions with the corresponding specimensDemonstrate proper use of scanning systemsProperly sort and prepare all paperwork for scanningProperly sort samples in ascending order, as well as set up samples according to an XG sheetProperly locate a sample requested by the clinical lab, quality control, or the SRC departmentComplete any paperwork that should come down from QC/SRCArchive and file all paperwork in order to distribute to the appropriate bins/boxesDemonstrate proper use of a Sample Scan 96Properly print labels for plates, preparing them to be scannedProperly take temperatures of the clinical labAdditional Responsibilities:Assist Lab Manager and/or shift coordinator in all daily activities or additional duties as delegated.Performs other similar or related duties as required or assigned.Assures activities are conducted in a safe manner and materials are handled according to safety guidelines.Assures customer privacy is maintained at all times.Participates as a team member and is accountable for own work responsibilities.Assures information is delivered in a manner that is supportive, timely and understandable.Initiative is demonstrated to proactively diagnose and resolve problems.Productive work habits are consistently displayed.Accuracy and quality are maintained for all activities.
