POSITION: Electrical ForemanExempt Status: Non-ExemptNo. of Days: According to district approved calendarDepartment: School Plant ServicesReports To: Facilities Control & Compliance SupervisorEducation:- High School Diploma or GED- Valid Texas Driver's License- Maintain a Master Electrician's License from the State of TexasExperience- Previous on the job experience and knowledge of Electrical System repair and maintenance- Five years prior experience as a licensed ElectricianPOSITION FUNCTION/PURPOSETHE DAILY OVERSIGHT OF PERSONNEL AND WORK ORDERS FOR REPAIRS MAINTENANCE AND UPGRADES TO THEELECTRICAL SYSTEMS, CIRCUITS AND EQUIPMENT AT ALL DISTRICT FACILITIES. CONDUCT THE DAY TO DAY OPERATIONSOF THE DISTRICTS ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT, ELECTRICIANS, CONSTRUCTION AND CONTRACTED SERVICES FOR ALLELECTRICAL PROJECTS.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS1. Work with the F.C.C.S Supervisor in scheduling repairs and modifications of alldistrict electrical systems and equipment2. Estimate and secure materials for the Electrical Department3. Maintain records and schedules of jobs including work orders and electrical construction projects4. Communicate with administrators in order to coordinate schedules for the least amount of disturbance5. Provide skills and procedures required to develop and maintain repairs on power circuits, electricalsystems and equipment.6. Provide the necessary skills needed to adequately assist other departments on various districtconstruction or repair projects7. Provide the necessary skills to adequately trouble shoot maintenance problems which occur wwith electrical circuits and systems and coordinate work by contracted services and utility providers8. Have the ability to follow instructions and be flexible to changes in work assignments9. Monitor quality and quantity of work done by the electricians and the department10. Keep F.C.C.S. Supervisor informed on all projects with work order status11. Maintain a records and documentation for quotes and estimates for all district electrical projects12. Must be willing to follow instructions and be flexible to changes in work assignments13. Follow and enforce the rules and regulations of the School Plant Services Department and the MidlandIndependent School District14. Once assigned, coordinate and inspect the design, installation and quality control of contractedservices for all electrical installations for the district15. Provide preliminary evaluations comments for all electrical staff to the F.C.C.S Supervisor forconsideration of employee performance appraisals16. Maintain and process electrical work orders, invoices, budget schedules and other productionrecords for the electrical department17. As assigned, shall serve on the rotating 24-hour emergency on-call beeper service for SchoolPlant Services18. Perform other duties as assigned by the F.C.C.S. Supervisor and the Executive Director of School Plantservices.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSMinimum Certification/Education:Special Knowledge/Skills:1. Extensive knowledge of Electrical circuits, system and equipment repairs and repair techniques includingm maintenance and new construction2. General knowledge and aptitude of building construction and electrical systems3. Project a positive attitude among other district personnel and demonstrate a Willingness towork4. Background in general and years of service in the electrical industry5. Background in energy efficient electrical and mechanical systems6. Be able to work independently, self-motivated7. Proven ability to manage a group of people8. The ability to plan and budget projects9. Possess a working knowledge and ability to read construction documents, drawings andequipment schematic drawings10.
