Travel RN - GI/Endoscopy

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy position at an academic Magnet-designated facility, requiring Epic proficiency and moderate sedation experience in a multispecialty procedural setting. Job Details• Work setting is an academic, Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma center hospital in Madison, WI, • Assigned to the Endoscopy unit with potential floating to other units or locations within the organization based on staffing needs, • Patient population includes those undergoing GI and pulmonary procedures such as ERCP, EUS, EGD, Colonoscopy, Endoscopy, and Bronchoscopy, • Some patients receive general anesthesia rather than moderate sedation, • Responsibilities span the full continuum of procedural care including pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure recovery (PACU/Phase I and Phase II), • Day/Evening shift, Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts with rotating start times between 6:30 AM and 9:00 AM, • No on-call requirement; may occasionally need to stay past the end of shift to complete the scheduled caseload, • Travelers are the first to float and may be scheduled across multiple units or facility locations, • Epic EMR used; experience required, preferably within the last 12 months, Job Requirements• Active WI RN license or a compact RN license issued from the candidate's permanent address state, • Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) only, • Minimum 2 years of GI/Endoscopy RN experience within the last 3 years, • Experience in an academic Level 1 Trauma center or similarly sized hospital required, • Demonstrated ability to administer and manage moderate sedation during procedures, • Experience recovering sedated patients from GI and pulmonary procedures required, • Basic cardiac arrhythmia recognition experience required; must pass a telemetry test prior to starting, • Epic EMR experience required, • Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the primary work site to be eligible for this position, Additional Information• Provide nursing care throughout all phases of GI and Bronchoscopy procedures, including sedation administration, • Serve as an integral member of a multispecialty surgical team, • Manage overall flow and responsibilities within the assigned procedure room, • Onsite parking requires a permit through UW Transportation; bus, park-and-ride, and private parking options are also available, • The facility is a nationally recognized teaching institution and referral center ranked as Wisconsin's #1 hospital
