Medical Doctor for International Humanitarian Missions

Medical Doctor for International Humanitarian Missions Provide outpatient and/or inpatient medical care to patients/beneficiaries according to adapted and updated medical knowledge, MSF protocols, values and universal hygiene standards to improve health conditions. Responsibilities Apply medical knowledge and skills to diagnose and prevent illnesses; conduct outpatient and inpatient consultations, prescribing necessary treatment under MSF protocols. Inform patient and family about illness and treatment, ensuring understanding. Follow up hospitalized / IDP patients through daily visits and examinations, deciding on discharge, transfer, or further care in collaboration with other doctors. Control rational distribution of medicines and equipment, ensuring quality, disinfection, and sterilization of medical material. Collect and analyze epidemiological data, validate it, and report problems or complications to the line manager or project coordinator. Ensure ongoing training of the multidisciplinary team to optimize quality of care. Ensure all MSF medical protocols and universal precautions are followed, reducing biohazard risks and preserving infection control; maintain professional confidentiality. Manage the team under direct responsibility in line with MSF HR policies; supervise performance, organize shifts, and participate in emergencies as needed. Qualifications Education and formation Desirable: diploma in tropical medicine. Experience Essential: minimum 3 years practicing as General Physician or Surgeon in a hospital with multi‑purpose activities. Experience in tropical medicine, public health, gynecology and obstetrics, pediatrics, “A” diseases, infectious diseases, HIV / AIDS / STD, TB, general medicine, and/or minor surgery. Desirable: work experience with MSF and other NGOs in developing countries. Languages Essential: English (B2 or higher). Essential: Spanish (C1 or higher). Knowledge of French is an asset. Position Conditions Work venue: wherever project needs it. Monthly remuneration: first 12 months bonus approximate gross monthly USD 1,500; from second year, remuneration increases based on experience and responsibility level. Private insurance covering medical coverage, hospital, temporary disability and life insurance. Organized medical evacuation if necessary. Expenses of stay in the land covered: housing, basic services, cleaning, and washing. Other expenses such as transportation, visas, transfer to destination country, and displacements in the field covered by MSF. Per diem to cover meals and small personal expenses.
