We are a proud, equal opportunity employer committed to an inclusive work environment and to building a team that reflects the rich diversity of our community, and actively encourage people from marginalized backgrounds to apply, including people of color, women, individuals with disabilities, veterans, LGBTQ+ individuals, immigrants, and refugees.PurposeThis role is designed to support our Occupational Therapy team (KidsClinic) in developing, coordinating, and implementing family support plans as part of Early Support for Infants and Toddlers (ESIT) for children aged birth to three who demonstrate neurodevelopmental, physical, and/or sensory differences.Principal Duties & ResponsibilitiesDuties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:Work with 3–11-year-old pediatrics to provide occupational therapy servicesAssess each child's functional motor skills/abilities/challenges; conduct formal evaluations of performance; design and implement treatment plan at Kindering; prepare progress reports; review medical reports; seek medical referral, consultation, and advice as necessary; and maintain accurate records of contact for each childEducate family/care givers in therapeutic interventions; design and/or assist in developing and ordering adaptive equipment.Make referrals to appropriate community or Kindering programs, support groups, and other servicesAssist in supervision of student therapistsProvide or support outreach, intensive informing, care planning, coordination, anticipatory guidance for complex health needs, assistance to access services, consultation, resource development, interagency coordination, training, program planning, quality management, and administration to support Medicaid programsAssess each child's functional motor skills/abilities/challenges; conduct formal evaluations of performance; design and implement treatment plan in Center, home, or community childcare as needed; prepare progress reports; review medical reports; seek medical referral, consultation, and advice as necessary; and maintain accurate records of contact for each childEvaluate home, daycare, or school situation through site visits if indicated; educate family/care givers in therapeutic interventions; design and/or assist in developing and ordering adaptive equipmentParticipate in the development of each child's total program as part of the interdisciplinary teamCoordinate enrollment/transitions into appropriate community or Kindering Center programs, support groups, and other services; coordinate case management meetings with community agenciesRequired Education & ExperienceB.S. degree in Occupational Therapy; master's degree preferredValid Washington State professional licensePossess a valid Washington State CPR/First Aid certification or be in process of obtaining oneLooking for additional language proficiency with Spanish preferredTraining in neurodevelopmental treatment techniques preferredExperience working with young children who have neuromuscular and developmental disorders, or a professional commitment to develop proficiency in this specialtyExperience and comfort with interacting with diverse populationsStrong teamwork skillsAbility to demonstrate dependability and punctualityMinimum PrerequisitesPossess a valid Washington State DOH OT license or be in process of obtaining oneDemonstrate skill in word processing and familiarity with MS Word and ExcelPass Washington State DSHS criminal history and background check and FBI fingerprint checkStrictly maintain confidentiality of all client informationMaintain valid unexpired proof of identity during employmentPass tuberculosis testAbility to show proof of current immunizations, including COVID-19 and MMR vaccine or titer test**Note: Kindering requires all employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and MMR or apply for and be approved for a sincerely held religious belief or medical exemption
