The ED RN assesses patient needs, identifies urgent or emergent care priorities, and collaborates to provide direct care, applying appropriate interventions and evaluating patient progress.Responsibilities Conduct primary assessments of critical needs and document deviations from norms across all age groups. Identify and manage urgent care priorities according to Triage Standards. Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide direct patient care and therapeutic interventions. Teach patients and families about post-emergency care and assess learning styles for optimal understanding. Maintain awareness of the patient’s condition throughout their ER visit, ensuring they are informed and comfortable. Document and report suspected domestic violence or abuse when identified. Safeguard public safety through compliance with infection prevention strategies and care protocols. Establish rapport with patients and families, addressing comfort and communication needs effectively.Qualifications and Required Experience Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Stroke Certification (AHA or RQI only). One year of acute hospital experience as a registered professional nurse is required. Preferred two years of experience in the Emergency Department. Active RN licensure in the respective state.ScheduleOrientation will be a full day on Monday and a full day on Tuesday. Part-time day or night shifts as needed, including holiday rotations.
