GCP Security Engineer

CSI Companies is seeking an experienced GCP Security Engineer to support the design and implementation of secure cloud environments. This role focuses on embedding security and compliance guardrails into Google Cloud Platform deployments to ensure onboarding is secure by default and audit ready.This opportunity is ideal for a hands on cloud security professional who is comfortable translating security requirements into practical technical solutions and driving implementation across enterprise cloud environments.You will partner with engineering and security teams to establish scalable standards improve compliance posture and support secure cloud adoption.Hours: Standard business hoursLocation: Onsite in Jersey CityPay: $50–70/hrPosition Type: ConsultantWork AuthorizationCandidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship.What you will do• Translate security and compliance requirements into technical guardrails using policies and baselines• Configure and enforce GCP organizational policies and control frameworks• Define encryption standards key management patterns and secrets handling approaches• Establish logging monitoring and audit evidence retention standards• Support implementation of IAM hardening and secure access controls• Drive exception handling risk acceptance workflows and remediation tracking• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure secure cloud onboarding practices• Implement practical security controls that align with enterprise requirements• Support audit readiness and improve overall compliance postureWhat we are looking for• 5 or more years of experience in cloud security or related disciplines• Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform• Experience implementing cloud security guardrails and policy controls• Strong understanding of IAM security logging and monitoring requirements• Experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code• Experience with Python for automation or scripting• Strong understanding of security control mapping and audit processes• Ability to translate security requirements into implementable technical solutions• Strong problem solving and communication skillsNice to have• Experience with threat modeling• Experience with vulnerability management integration• Experience with incident response practices• Experience working in enterprise cloud transformation programsWho Should ApplyThis role is ideal for a GCP security engineer who enjoys building secure cloud foundations and driving compliance through practical engineering solutions.About UsThe CSI Companies is a leading staffing and recruiting firm providing organizations with highly skilled professionals since 1994.
