Internal Medicine Physician (MD/DO)(Outpatient or Traditional Practice)Position SummaryThe Internal Medicine Physician provides comprehensive medical care to adult patients, focusing on the prevention, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic medical conditions. This role emphasizes evidence-based care, continuity of care, and coordination with specialists to deliver high-quality, patient-centered services. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive primary and/or inpatient medical care to adult patientsDiagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, pulmonary disorders, and gastrointestinal conditionsDeliver preventive care including health maintenance exams, screenings, and immunizationsDevelop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plansCoordinate care with specialists, hospitals, and ancillary servicesInterpret and manage diagnostic tests, laboratory results, and imaging studiesProvide patient education regarding disease prevention, lifestyle modification, and treatment adherenceManage transitions of care including hospital admissions, discharges, and follow-upMaintain accurate, timely clinical documentationParticipate in quality improvement, population health, and patient safety initiativesSupervise and collaborate with advanced practice providers, residents, or medical students as applicableComply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standardsQualificationsDoctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical schoolCompletion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency programBoard-eligible or board-certified in Internal MedicineAbility to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensureDEA registration or eligibilitySkills and CompetenciesBroad expertise in adult medicineStrong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skillsExcellent communication and patient counseling abilitiesAbility to manage complex and chronic conditionsCommitment to evidence-based, patient-centered careWork EnvironmentOutpatient clinic, hospital inpatient setting, or a combination of bothCall coverage as determined by practice structurePhysical RequirementsAbility to sit, stand, and move throughout clinical environmentsManual dexterity for examinations and office-based proceduresVisual and auditory acuity sufficient for patient assessment
