Step into a day designing the future of automotive testingAt Dynamic Manufacturing, Inc., you'll architect the mechanical backbone of our test operations—creating fixtures, presses, and automated testers that validate components and sub‑assemblies for cutting-edge automotive programs. Your expertise in pneumatics, hydraulics, and robust mechanical design will power reliable launches and continuous improvement across our production landscape.A day in this roleMorning stand-up: you sequence multiple cross-functional projects and confirm cost and effort estimates for an upcoming product line launch. Midday: you're on the floor, reviewing a pneumatic press test rig, coaching Associate Engineers through design revisions, and validating motion-control safety interlocks. Afternoon: you jump on a call with a customer's engineering team to align test coverage, then capture updates in PLM and project documentation before closing the day mentoring the team on FEA and GD&T best practices. What you'll ownFull-lifecycle design, implementation, and upkeep of advanced industrial test assets, including:Testing fixtures and advanced component testers for automotive partsPneumatic and hydraulic presses/testers with appropriate fixturing and controlsCollaborative and industrial robotics integrationsAutomation and motion-control initiativesSafety design for pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systemsStandards/architectures for electrical and mechanical designs, pneumatic/hydraulic schematics, project management documentation, and preventive/predictive maintenance documentationEstimating cost and level of effort for new product launches and continuous improvement initiatives, including expansions within existing platformsLeading new product line launches and driving multi-department project executionServing as technical lead; mentoring Engineers and Associate EngineersPartnering closely with Controls & Instrumentation, Software Controls, Product, Manufacturing, and Quality Engineers—as well as Maintenance and Calibration TechniciansAssessing equipment condition to recommend repairs, redesigns, or rebuildsVisiting customer sites and interfacing with customer engineers as neededWhat you bringBachelor's (or advanced) degree in Engineering—or 8–11 years of equivalent experienceCAD mastery: Inventor, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA; strong GD&T and 2D/3D modeling3D assembly simulation and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) expertisePLM proficiency across the full product lifecycleDesign for Manufacturability (DFM) and sound material selection (metals, plastics)Hands-on prototyping and deep understanding of mechanical systemsStructural analysis skills to ensure design integrity and safetyWorking knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical conceptsExperience designing automation cells and robotic systemsAbility to interpret equipment operation with minimal documentationExcellent communication; Lean mindset; continuous improvement orientationOrganized project management, technical writing, and thorough documentation habitsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilitiesBenefits & growthAn engaging work environmentOpportunities for advancementTuition reimbursementCompetitive pay (we pay weekly!)Comprehensive benefits package & 401(k) matchGenerous paid time off, and moreAbout Dynamic ManufacturingFounded in 1955 by John Partipilo, Dynamic Manufacturing is a family-owned leader in automotive, off-road, industrial, and racing powertrain products—including torque converters, transmissions (automatic, manual, hybrid), and transfer case assemblies.
