Perform housekeeping and other general tasks in support of departmental driven functions, projects and programs.Photograph coreManual handling and transport of sample material (core, pulps) between processing areas and storagePalletize coreLoad and unload core boxesSplit and/or saw coreWeigh samplesMark sampling intervalsMeasure RQD, specific gravity, and point loadGenerate/place bar codes and scan for dispatch to the labPrepare samples for analysis using appropriate techniquesPerform sample preparation for quality control programSelect Geomechanical samples (uniaxial, direct shear); wrap and mark samplesCapture Geomechanical data and enter it into forms/spreadsheets/databasesValidation of daily drill progress including Driller’s Daily log entry and captureAssist with department administrative functions and processesPerform housekeeping and other general duties as requiredMinimum QualificationsWhat You Bring To FreeportBasic knowledge of using a computerCapable of using a measuring tapeAbility to follow directions and coordinate work with othersGood organizational skillsAbility to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautionsSkilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazardsAbility to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writingPreferredHigh School diploma or GEDAt least one (1) year of experience in an area or areas relevant to the assignmentDemonstrated high level of attention to detailProficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically including Word and ExcelExperience with SAP, ORAS, and/or CASWhat We Offer YouThe estimated pay range for this role is currently $21.00 - $29.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
