Payroll Analyst

Job Title: Payroll Analyst Location: Remote Employment Type: Full-Time Reports to: HR/People Ops ManagerAbout the RoleWe’re looking for a Payroll Analyst with strong PEO experience to take ownership of payroll operations and help deliver a best-in-class, high-accuracy employee experience.This is a newly created role focused on managing day-to-day PEO-related payroll activities and helping ensure payroll is processed accurately, on time, and with a high level of care. The right candidate brings solid payroll knowledge, hands-on experience working with a PEO, and a detail-oriented approach to administration. Experience with benefits administration is a strong plus.What You’ll DoManage payroll-related activity through the company’s PEO partnershipHelp ensure accurate, timely, and error-free payroll processing for all employees, including regular payroll, off-cycle payroll, bonuses, adjustments, and final payReview payroll data for accuracy and completeness, including compensation changes, deductions, taxes, time-off impacts, and employee status updatesServe as a primary point of contact for PEO-related payroll mattersPartner with HR, Finance, and the PEO to ensure employee data changes are processed accurately and on scheduleProcess payroll-related employee lifecycle transactions, including new hires, terminations, compensation updates, leave events, and status changesSupport benefits administration processes in partnership with the PEO, including enrollments, changes, deductions, and employee questionsConduct regular audits of payroll and benefits data to identify discrepancies and resolve issuesReconcile payroll reports, invoices, deductions, and related records as neededMaintain payroll calendars, documentation, procedures, and controls to support consistent administrationRespond to employee payroll questions with professionalism, discretion, and strong service orientationHelp support compliance with applicable payroll regulations, wage and hour requirements, and recordkeeping practicesIdentify opportunities to improve payroll and PEO processesPrepare payroll reports and related analysis as neededWhat We’re Looking For3+ years of payroll experience, including strong hands-on PEO experienceExperience supporting or administering payroll through a PEOStrong understanding of payroll processes, controls, and data accuracyBenefits administration experience preferredKnowledge of multi-state payroll practices preferredExcellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracyStrong judgment and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential informationHighly organized with the ability to manage deadlines and multiple prioritiesStrong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with HR, Finance, employees, and external partnersProficiency in Excel and comfort working with payroll reports, reconciliations, and auditsA dependable, process-oriented, and proactive approach to workPreferred QualificationsExperience in a growing or fast-paced environmentExperience improving payroll processes and documentationFamiliarity with benefits deductions, leave impacts on payroll, and employee data changesCPP certification is a plusWhy This RoleThis role will help support accurate payroll administration and smooth coordination across payroll and PEO processes.
