It enhances cost competitiveness by equipping teams with Continuous Improvement skills; simplicity, speed and accountability behaviors to drive value.The Performance Engineer role ensures opportunities from area losses are captured, evaluated, prioritized and solutions are implemented to maximize the Business Team's P&L.What You'll DoActively support and participate in environmental, health and safety initiatives to drive EH&S excellence. Participates in and/or leads Management of Change Activity. Understand all applicable process technology, equipment and control technology.Own and eliminate production losses whether Utilization, Yield or UptimeEvaluate and categorize production lossesRecord and analyze all production deviation dataDetermine and prioritize corrective actions to close Operational Performance gapsReview daily operating logs to identify equipment reliability issues & determine causes.Work with Operations Capability Leader to determine solutions for mitigating losses due to operating discipline.Participate in advanced trouble shooting and coaches others to learn these skills. Utilizes Root Cause Analysis techniques to identify and drive improvements to prevent recurrent issues.Understand and apply skills and knowledge in Statistical Process Control (SPC) technology, to maximize plant asset utilization and produce low cost, quality products.Network with other engineers on site and within the business to leverage knowledge on plant operations.As required, communicate technical information and issues to plant personnel, Technology or Expertise centers.The Performance engineer must interface often with a variety of personnel, including leadership, operators, maintenance personnel, R&D, auditors, etc. They must have highly effective interpersonal and communication skills.Understand the goals of the organization and aligns individual goals with these objectives. Low value work must be eliminated or altered.
