Cook (The Gables - Rochester) #1627The Gables is currently seeking a candidate to work as a Cook in a part-time capacity in our Rochester location.This position will require a flexible schedule and a rotation of weekend and holiday coverage.The pay rate for this role is $19.00 per hour. The Cook is responsible for maintaining appropriate health standards for food preparation and kitchen cleanliness, as well as maintain a professional yet friendly relationship with residential and outpatient program clients who may be in an interim recovery point in their lives. The Cook must be able to work split shift hours when required.This position must be able to maintain client confidentiality in accordance with state guidelines and HIPAA requirements.ResponsibilitiesPreparation and serving of nutritional meals on a daily basisCleaning of Kitchen and equipment meeting required sanitary standards in kitchen and storage areaEnsuring safe kitchen practices are maintained for each meal serviceMaintain high standard of safety in use of kitchen equipment including knivesAdhere to scheduled menu. Substitutions must be approved by a supervisorSafeguard food inventoriesInspect and store incoming goods as to quantity, quality and document receiptLift heavy food packages/containers up to 50 lbsPunctuality for assigned shift is a must. In event of illness you must notify your manager 1 hr prior to scheduled shiftKeep abreast of rules and changes regarding the Safe Serv practicesAble to work split shift hours when required Other duties as assigned or requiredRequiredQualifications, Skills, Knowledge and ExperienceAge 21 or olderAble to pass Minnesota DHS background study Physical Demands: Daily use of computer, phone, and kitchen facility equipment. Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time, lifting (max 50 pounds) with frequent reaching, bending and stooping.
