Production Engineer

Join our Toyota Material Handling Team as a Production EngineerThe RoleWe’re seeking a passionate and dedicated Production Engineer who brings decisiveness, strong decision-making, and expertise to the table. In this role, you’ll take ownership of their assigned manufacturing area, identifies and implements continuous improvement initiatives, and leads projects aligned with department strategy and company objectives. If you enjoy tackling challenges while having the opportunity to make a lasting impact on our business, you will feel right at home.What You’ll Be DoingCollect necessary information to be able to identify and recommend safety, quality, and productivity improvement ideas for manufacturing equipment and processes Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers, Maintenance, and Manufacturing Leadership to analyze and understand existing equipment and process production volume limitationsCollaborate with direct supervisor, Manufacturing Engineers, Maintenance, and Manufacturing Leadership to analyze chronic or systemic equipment/process issues to identify long-term improvement opportunitiesSupport the introduction of new models or model changes by reviewing proposals for new product models, identify manufacturing equipment and process change points, and collaborate with direct supervisor to determine manufacturing equipment and process planCollect and present necessary information to be able to identify and recommend ways to reduce manufacturing environmental impactCreate and refine specifications for outside vendors to quote work such as fixture design or plant utility layout changes Develop and optimize material/part flow diagrams to visualize process and department conveyance with Manufacturing Engineers and Manufacturing Leadership Use of CAD to develop process layouts utilizing provided specific constraints and objectives Executes assigned projects utilizing provided schedules, budgeting, and key performance indicators Mentor entry-level engineers and support the development of engineering standards and documentation.Use basic measuring tools and methods (scale, caliper, tape, etc.) Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe mannerAdditional duties as assignedWhat We’re Looking ForAssociate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology. (Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial)0-3 year’s hands-on experience preferred.Ability to work and communicate professionally with all levels within the TMH organizationComputer skills, including the ability to prepare thorough, concise reports and justificationsAble to interpret and create 2D and 3D CAD for manufacturing processes and equipmentExperience with technical problem solving Strong work ethic, intrinsically motivated, ability to organize work and multi-taskBasic understanding of manufacturing methods including welding, cutting, turning, and millingAble to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and measurement methodsWillingness and ability to effectively work hands-onWhat Sets You ApartHighly developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface with all levels of the organization to advance your goals.Understanding of Toyota Lean Principles and how they are implemented3-5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, preferred experience with industrial coating processesAbility to analyze layouts and design fixtures and tooling using Solidworks, Inventor, AutoCAD, or CatiaStrong technical experience with troubleshooting capability and willingness to work hands-on.Strong work ethic, intrinsically motivated, ability to organize work and execute concurrent projects.Knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.Commitment to lifelong learning and process improvement.Ability to convey complex information in an understandable format.Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.Where And When You’ll WorkThis is an in-person role located at our Columbus, Indiana office—ideal for those who thrive in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.What Your Total Compensation & Benefits Package will look like:Salary - $75,000 - $105,000 per year.
