Job OverviewThe Facilities and Maintenance Mechanic ensure Kingwood Center Gardens' vehicles and equipment are kept in working order. They also assist other department staff in maintaining the physical plant, infrastructure, and other systems associated with a transformative guest experience are in good working order. The Mechanic supports the daily and special project operational priorities of the Facilities and Maintenance Department and Kingwood as a whole.Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform routine and urgent repair work on Kingwood's various fleet vehicles and equipment including small and automotive engine repairPerform routine preventative maintenance tasks on Kingwood Center's various building and grounds infrastructure systems and featuresComplete repairs on KCG's various building and grounds features as needed in a timely and efficient mannerPerform routine preventative maintenance and basic repairs to KCG's fleet and machineryMaintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance shopAssist in maintaining the necessary inventory of tools and parts sufficient to complete routine operational tasksEnsures a safe working environment while completing work on campus and that all safety protocols are followedParticipate in KCG's snow removal operations during snow eventsAssist with public events and temporary exhibit fabrication, installation, and removal as neededAssist with event setup and take down as requiredServe as extra staff during peak attendance public events or shows as neededOther duties as assignedRequirementsProlonged periods of continuous standing, sitting, or walking along with occasional stooping, bending, reaching, crouchingAbility to occasionally lift to 50 lbsMust be able to work outside in extreme weather conditions year-roundAbility to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, or holidays as neededWilling to serve in an off-hour, on call rotation as neededDemonstrated knowledge of small and automotive engine systems and their maintenanceMust be able to communicate clearly with staff and the publicAbility to collaborate with people of all ages, diverse backgrounds, skills, and abilities including staff, guests, and volunteersTroubleshooting, problem solving, and diagnostic skillsWorking understanding of Microsoft Office applications such Outlook and Word preferredQualificationsMinimum of a high school diploma and/or at least 3 years of relevant work experience requiredExperience in physical vehicle maintenance, plant maintenance, or construction preferredMust have a valid Ohio Driver's LicenseMust pass a background checkMust pass a drug test
