Raised $25M+ from Khosla Ventures and YCWe’re still just getting startedThe RoleWe’re hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with customers and help define how Broccoli deploys successfully at scale.This is a highly technical, customer-facing role. You’ll sit at the intersection of engineering, product, and customer operations — owning deployments, building integrations, solving live issues, and turning customer-specific needs into repeatable systems. As one of the earliest people in this function, you’ll also help shape the playbook, tooling, and structure for how Forward Deployed Engineering works at Broccoli.This role is ideal for someone who likes operating in ambiguity, shipping quickly, working directly with customers, and building from zero to one.What You’ll DoOwn the technical success of customer deployments from scoping through launchWork directly with customers to understand workflows, operational constraints, and integration requirementsBuild and maintain integrations, configurations, internal tools, and customer-specific solutions needed to make Broccoli work in productionDebug live issues across voice, workflows, integrations, and agent behavior in high-stakes environmentsTranslate customer needs into technical requirements and partner closely with engineering to drive fixes and product improvementsIdentify patterns across deployments and turn one-off requests into repeatable processes, tooling, or platform capabilitiesHelp establish best practices, playbooks, and technical standards for the Forward Deployed Engineering functionWhat We’re Looking For5+ years of experience in software engineering, solutions engineering, forward deployed engineering, or other highly technical customer-facing rolesStrong engineering fundamentals with the ability to write and ship production-quality codeExperience owning ambiguous technical problems end to end with minimal oversightAbility to work directly with customers and translate between business needs and engineering executionGood judgment on when to build something bespoke and when to create scalable, reusable solutionsStrong communication skills and a high sense of ownershipComfort operating in a fast-moving startup environmentNice to HaveExperience building API integrations with vertical SaaS platforms such as ServiceTitan, Jobber, Housecall Pro, or similar systemsExperience with voice AI, conversational systems, or real-time production workflowsPrevious experience in a forward deployed engineering model or post-sales technical deployment roleExperience in home services, field services, or other operationally complex vertical software environmentsExperience as an early hire helping define a new technical function
