JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Collections Officer
HOURS: 40 hours per week
FLSA CATEGORY: Non-Exempt
RESPONSIBLE FOR: The Collections Officer will be responsible for managing the end-to-end collections process within the US. The role holder will work directly with the Credit Manager and VP of Financial Operations to meet cash collections targets and improve debt recovery performance.
JOB FUNCTIONS (Including but not limited to):
Deliver cash collection targets every month.
Ensuring that invoices are paid on time by adhering to the collection cycle.
Issuing account statements, copy invoices and credit notes when required.
Reconciliation of payments ensuring correct allocation.
Compile credit and refund requests for approval.
Facilitate Direct Debit & recurring payment setup.
Ensure terminations for non-payment are completed in line with collections cycle (From notice to execution).
Manage mailboxes ensuring emails are prioritised, actioned and marked as complete.
Manage any queries ensuring they are either resolved or passed to the correct department, following up until completion.
Compile detailed ledgers for review with Credit Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent computer skills including proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word,
PowerPoint, Outlook. Experience with fund allocations a plus.
Ability to work under pressure, prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and always maintain attention to details.
Individual should have a high level of professionalism related to confidentiality, reliability, dependability, and integrity.
Individual must have consistent and reliable attendance and customer service attitude (both internal and external) to be successful in this position.
Strong interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Internet Search Engines.
Possess an understanding of modern office practices.
Ability to work effectively with people in a variety of situations.
Experience:
Credit Collections: 2 years (Preferred)
NetSuite experience (Preferred, not Required)
clerical: 2 years (Preferred)
