Assembly Supervisor (2nd Shift)

Position Responsibilities may include: Train, instruct, and supervise employees using established production methods to produce a quality product in a safe and timely manner to meet production demandsProvide work assignments, procure parts, and communicate production demands to employees as well as perform quality and safety audits and generate maintenance requestsMaintain safe working environmentMeet and or exceed company metrics including safety, quality, cost, and deliveryDocument and complete production reports, scrap tickets, accident reports, and discipline notices while promoting and enforcing company policies, safety rules, and work instructionsCompare actual performance with planned performance and takes corrective action if needed to ensure that objectives are achievedUtilize accurate measurement tools to track area key indices, identify unfavorable trends, and take corrective actionMeet key performance indicators such as Quality, Safety, Productivity, Scrap Rates, Labor Efficiencies, On-time Delivery, Machine Down Time, and Inventory Levels to ensure operations are running in an efficient matterMaintain high employee morale through good employee-management relations, team building, and thorough knowledge of policies where applicableRecognize and inform higher supervision of hourly employees' capabilitiesProactively use Lean tools to improve operating efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality and safety resultsComplete required systems work: Mapics, Kronos, Zone, etc.Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needsNature & Scope:Provides directionRelies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goalsKnowledge & Skills:Good working knowledge of manufacturing assembly operations, safety protocols, and best practicesWorking knowledge of Lean, 5S, Six Sigma practicesKnowledge of Production Daikin System and Flexible Manufacturing System (in-house training)Effective leadership skills; able to envision, develop, direct, manage, delegate responsibility and authority, and motivate employeesWorking knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)Effective verbal and written communication skills including interpersonal skillsHigh level of attention to detailEffective problem-solving skills in a fast past manufacturing environmentStrong organizational and time management skillsAbility to promote an environmentally healthy and safe work environmentAbility to apply good judgment, strong work ethics, and integrity on the jobCompetency:Experience:5+ years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferred2+ years of experience in a leadership roleEducation/Certification:High school diploma or GEDCollege degree preferred, or equivalent work experiencePDS/FMS Certification - obtained through in-house training programPeople Management: YesPhysical Requirements / Work Environment:Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodationsReports To:Superintendent, Manager, AssemblyThe Company provides equal employment opportunity to all employees and applicants regardless of a person's race, color, religion (including religious dress or grooming practices), creed, national origin (including language use restrictions), citizenship, uniform service member or veteran status, ancestry, disability, physical or mental disability (including HIV/AIDS), medical condition (including cancer and genetic characteristics), genetic information, request for protected leave, marital status, sex, pregnancy, age (over 40), sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or expression, political affiliation, or any other characteristic protected by law.
