Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) is seeking a Design Engineer/ Principal Design Engineer.What You Will Get To DoThis qualified candidate will support the Sentinel Weapon System Design Analysis & Configuration team that focuses on managing the large Sentinel Weapon System product baseline. In this role the qualified candidate will serve as a program wide liaison within the Sentinel design engineering community. They will connect the various major program segment systems through architecting the Weapon System drawing trees, managing the Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM), architecting and application of product effectivity, developing final system to system Installation Product Definition Packages (PDP), and providing interpretation and guidance on design engineering process and procedure across the program to support program wide execution.Additional Duties IncludeProvide functional design support on program design procedures and engineering model and drawing release.Educate and guide the design engineering community on proper EBOM management within the Sentinel constructParticipate in technical reviews of new and revised Division design processes and procedures in support of technical executionAuthor program specific design and product baseline related processes and procedures which integrate seamlessly with Test, Production Operations, and other Functional areas.Support Program wide efforts to integrate the large supply base product baseline into the larger Sentinel CPLM Weapon System product baselineThis position can be filled as a Design Engineer (level 2) Principal Design Engineer (level 3) depending on experience and qualifications.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree in a relevant STEM fieldMinimum of 2 years of relevant experience (level 2) or 5 years of relevant experience (level 3)U.S. citizenActive Secret clearance at time of applicationAbility to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet business needs.2 years experience with Product Lifecyle Management (PLM) tools2 years experience with 3D CAD modeling tools2 years experience developing and releasing engineering models and drawings2 years experience developing and releasing model based engineering Digital Product Definition PackagesFamiliarity with basic GD&T interpretationStrong communication skills across large diverse organizationsPreferred QualificationsExperience with Siemens Teamcenter or Teamcenter CPLM Product Lifecycle Management ToolExperience with Siemens NXExperience managing the configuration of large Weapon System or Vehicle platforms.Possesses a strong knowledge and background of design engineering release procedures and configuration management practicesStrong knowledge and experience managing multiple product baseline Engineering Bill of Materials through effectivity managementAbility to develop and implement solutions with minimal oversight given a challenging problem statementAbility to manage complex special technical assignments under pressure from engineering leadership and program directorsExperience preparing and reviewing CDRLs.Roy UT Salary RangeLevel 2 - 72,100-108,100Level 3 - 89,400-134,200Colorado Springs CO Salary RangeLevel 2 - 75,800-113,800Level 3 - 94,200-141,200Huntsville AL Salary RangeLevel 2 - 79,600-119,400Level 3 - 98,900-148,300Primary Level Salary Range: $72,100.00 - $119,400.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $148,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
