This is not a passive, status-report project management role. The ideal person splits time roughly 50/50 between project management and product management, bringing an assertive, proactive presence that drives business stakeholder accountability in a fast-moving, change-resistant environment. The organization is legacy-heavy, and the biggest challenge is engaging a business audience that has operated the same way for years. This person must be comfortable extracting requirements from reluctant stakeholders, pressure-testing assumptions, and evangelizing the value of a modern platform to people who are wary of change.ResponsibilitiesDrive business stakeholder engagement across the platform modernization effort, ensuring teams clearly understand activities, deliverables, and timelines well in advance of key milestonesPersistently follow up on outstanding requirements, proactively escalating delays and holding stakeholders accountable for timely, complete inputPartner closely with the existing Product Manager to walk business users through platform capabilities, demo scenarios, and validate assumptions end to endSynthesize complex business needs into actionable requirements by asking incisive questions, connecting dots across workstreams, and proposing practical solutionsSet and manage expectations with business owners, translating technical capabilities into business outcomes and resetting timelines when scope shiftsEvangelize solution efficacy to a change-resistant audience, addressing concerns around job impact and demonstrating how the new platform improves day-to-day operationsMaintain rigorous project tracking to ensure all loose ends are identified, assigned, and resolved before they become launch blockersGet into the weeds on product management tasks, providing hands-on relief to the product team on requirements gathering, scenario documentation, and stakeholder communicationQualificationsProven experience as a Project Manager, Product Manager, or hybrid PM role with a strong track record of managing complex stakeholder dynamics in change-resistant organizationsBackground in business analysis, requirements elicitation, or product ownership with demonstrated ability to extract and refine requirements from disengaged or reluctant business usersAssertive, confident communication style with the presence to hold business leaders accountable, challenge assumptions, and drive decisions forward without alienating stakeholdersExperience supporting critical IT initiatives and technology solution deliveryDemonstrated success evangelizing new solutions and guiding organizational change management within legacy-minded business culturesStrong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple workstreams, shifting deadlines, and competing dependencies in a fast-paced environmentComfortable operating in ambiguity, building structure where little exists, and adapting quickly as priorities evolveCompensation$90-95/hr - Dependent on fit and experience.
