Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Financial Counselor to join our team. The successful candidate will assist patients with financial planning, insurance verification, and understanding their financial responsibilities for TMS, ECT, Spravato, and IV Ketamine Infusions. This role requires financial expertise and compassionate patient support.
This position requires a highly professional demeanor, outstanding people and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work alone or in a group setting.
Hours and Pay:
$25 per hour DOE. Full-Time. Monday - Friday, 7:30 - 4:00. Pay depends on experience and qualifications. Fully Remote
New patient coordinator responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Financial Assessment: Evaluate patients’ financial situations to determine their capability to cover treatment costs. Analyze insurance coverage, benefits, and patient financial obligations for TMS, ECT, Spravato, and IV Ketamine Infusions.
Insurance Coordination: Verify and communicate insurance coverage details for all treatments. Facilitate authorizations, pre-certifications, and appeals to maximize patient benefits and minimize out-of-pocket expenses.
Financial Counseling: Offer clear and empathetic explanations of treatment costs, financial options, and payment plans. Assist patients in exploring financial assistance programs and other resources.
Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of patient financial information, insurance communications, and payment arrangements. Ensure compliance with privacy regulations and internal policies.
Patient Advocacy: Act as an advocate for patients in interactions with insurance providers to resolve disputes and ensure they receive the benefits to which they are entitled.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate with clinical staff to understand treatment costs and protocols. Work with other departments to enhance financial processes and improve the patient experience.
Position qualifications and requirements:
Proven work experience as a Financial Coordinator or similar role
A high school diploma or equivalent
Strong affinity for customer service
Working knowledge of office management and filing systems
Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and office software.
Strong organizational skills
Understanding of medical terminology and insurance processes.
Capable of handling multiple tasks and working independently in a dynamic environment.
