Inventory Spec-Scheduling - 12hr
Position Summary
This position is responsible for executing a daily plan for movement of all freight within an assigned area.
Essential Functions
Gather, monitor, and analyze inventories for forecasted customers
Confirm accurate retain and runout times while maximizing payload and on-time performance by analyzing inventories and sales as information becomes available
Evaluate and adjust current and future orders based on driver capacity and customer demands
Coordinate with Asset Specialists to update known sourcing as changes occur and revise daily operating plan as necessary to ensure operational efficiency
Communicate effectively with Load Planners, Scheduling Team Leaders, and external customers on service issues
Solicit new and existing customers for freight opportunities
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent business experience; degree preferred
Previous logistics dispatch/scheduling experience preferred
Knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft and logistics application software
Ability to solve problems and work in high pressure situations, using independent judgement and discretion
Ability to work well in teams with staff and contractors from all departments
Excellent written and oral communication
Excellent personal skills and positive attitude
