Professional Services Firm (Norwalk, CT)A growing professional services organization is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee AP, expense reporting, and payment processes across the business.This role offers the opportunity to lead a team, improve processes, and drive operational efficiency within a fast-paced and collaborative environment.Position OverviewThe Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing accounts payable, expense reporting, and payment operations, while overseeing a small team and driving process improvements.This role is ideal for someone with strong AP leadership experience who enjoys building structure, improving workflows, and working cross-functionally.Key ResponsibilitiesAP & Expense OperationsOversee accounts payable and expense reporting processesMonitor invoice approvals and ensure compliance with internal policiesManage corporate credit card programs and recurring paymentsOversee weekly disbursements and payment cyclesTeam LeadershipManage and mentor a team of AP professionals (including offshore resources)Provide coaching, training, and performance managementEnsure timely and accurate completion of team deliverablesReporting & ComplianceOversee:1099 reportingEscheatment processesNon-AR cash receipts reportingMonitor and enforce compliance across AP and expense processesProcess Improvement & SystemsBuild and maintain AP dashboards and KPIsDevelop and document SOPs and workflowsSupport system implementations and process enhancementsCross-Functional SupportManage AP requests and vendor-related inquiriesCoordinate with finance and operations teamsSupport special projects and process initiativesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (or equivalent experience)2–7 years of AP supervisory or management experienceExperience managing high-volume AP environmentsExperience working with outsourced or offshore teams preferredStrong understanding of:AP processesExpense reporting (T&E)Payment operationsStrong Excel skillsExperience with systems such as:ERP platforms (e.g., Deltek or similar)Expense tools (e.g., Concur)Strong communication and organizational skills
