In this role, you will be instrumental in diagnosing and monitoring heart conditions through expert ultrasound imaging. Collaborating closely with cardiologists and other medical professionals, you will provide vital information that shapes patient care and treatment plans.Key Responsibilities:Perform echocardiograms following physician prescriptions and established protocols.Utilize 2D, color flow, spectral Doppler imaging, and enhancing agents to capture high-quality cardiac images.Assess the hemodynamic impact of cardiac diseases using all available imaging modalities per departmental guidelines.Accurately measure echocardiographic structures and Doppler signals, inputting data into the cardiac reporting system.Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to ensure precise diagnosis and effective treatment.Educate and support patients by explaining procedures and addressing concerns to promote comfort and safety.Stay current with advancements in cardiac ultrasound technology and cardiology best practices.Conduct a variety of exams including adult echocardiograms, exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms, limited pediatric echocardiograms, and use of saline contrast and ultrasound enhancing agents as needed.Communicate critical findings promptly to physicians and team members.Maintain reliable attendance and participate in meetings as required.Education and Certification:Associate's degree in a relevant field or completion of an accredited echocardiography program.Certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) in Adult Echocardiography (AE), or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), or registry eligible upon hire with commitment to obtain certification within 12 months.Experience and Skills:Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and pathology.Proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment and performing detailed cardiac imaging.Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.Compassionate approach to patient care and commitment to diagnostic excellence.
