Joining Wayne Tile Co. offers an opportunity to contribute to a growing business with strong local roots.Role Description The Controller is a full-time, on-site role based in Wayne, NJ, responsible for overseeing all core accounting and financial reporting activities. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing the general ledger, supervising accounts payable and accounts receivable, preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and ensuring accurate posting of transactions. The role also includes budgeting and forecasting support, cash flow monitoring, and coordination with leadership on financial performance, cost control, and margin analysis. The Controller will maintain internal controls, support external audits and tax filings, and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies. This position collaborates closely with operations, sales, and senior management to provide timely financial insights that support decision-making and business growth.Qualifications Strong accounting and financial management skills, including general ledger maintenance, financial statement preparation, and account reconciliation.Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and financial reporting to leadership.Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems, along with advanced skills in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.Knowledge of internal controls, audit support, and compliance with GAAP and relevant tax regulations.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and present financial information clearly.Prior supervisory experience in an accounting or finance team environment is preferred.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.Experience in construction, manufacturing, retail, or a similar product-based environment is beneficial.
