Bartender
The Philadelphia Club, the oldest city based private members’ club in the United States, is looking for a new member of the team. The role: The Club Bartender oversees the bar operation and ensures outstanding beverage service is offered to the Members and their guests. He/she should have excellent cocktail skills and use those to support the wider team in making The Philadelphia Club one of the finest private members’ clubs in the United States. Essential functions: To establish and maintain high levels of service in the Bar, be that for general members, private parties or Club Events. To be a charming host for all Members and their guests. To be a professional and creative mixologist constantly looking to improve the Club’s beverage offering. To train and develop other team members in cocktail making and bar service. Along with the Food and Beverage Manager, to ensure the Club achieves the agreed beverage gross profit each month. To help manage the Club’s beverage and tobacco inventory. To champion cleanliness in the Bar paying particular attention to back of house cleanliness and cleaning schedules. Skills and Requirements: Proven experience as bartender in a high-quality bar/restaurant environment. Minimum 5 years’ experience as a bartender. Good knowledge of classic cocktails. Good knowledge of mixology skills including the ability to prepare syrups and infusions. Basic knowledge of both American and European wines. Some knowledge of staff training and coaching. Knowledge of health and safety procedures, including food allergens. ServSafe Certificate required. Knowledge of point-of-sale use in bars/restaurants. Strong organizational and time management skills. Strong communications skills, both verbal and written. Fluency in English is essential to this role. Physical requirements for this role include but are not limited to: lifting of heavy objects, reaching including overhead, stooping, bending, and standing for prolonged periods of time.
