The Echocardiographer II performs diagnostic and stress ultrasound examinations of the heart, using real time, M-Mode, doppler and color flow equipment for inpatients and outpatients; adult and pediatric. Additional responsibilities may include performing EKGS, EEGs, treadmill stress tests, holter monitoring/scanning, and telephonic arrhythmia monitoring for inpatients and outpatients; adult and pediatric. To be successful, you will possess a strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, proficient technical skills, and effective communication abilities to provide exceptional diagnostic services. Performs technically correct echocardiograms that are of high resolution and contrast quality per protocol Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology for echocardiographic diagnostic purposes. Maintains quality control procedures and records on echocardiographic equipment. Performs cardiac diagnostic cardiac procedures (EKGs, EEGs, holter monitoring/scanning, telephonic arrhythmia monitoring) per protocol for both inpatients and outpatients; adult and pediatric. Recognizes both abnormal EKG rhythms and cardiac abnormalities on echo that are potentially life threatening notifying appropriate person, RN or MD. Checks emergency resuscitation/crash cart equipment daily and assures availability for procedures.
