This role supports the program’s mission by providing high‑quality clinical teaching, supervising fellows in diverse cardiovascular care settings, and contributing to curriculum development and program evaluation. The faculty member upholds ACGME requirements for Core Faculty participation and models professionalism, clinical excellence, and a commitment to trainee development.Major/Essential FunctionsKey ResponsibilitiesProvide direct clinical supervision and teaching to cardiology fellows across inpatient, outpatient, and procedural settings. Participate actively in curriculum design, didactic instruction, simulation activities, and scholarly development for fellows. Contribute to assessment of fellow performance, including competency‑based evaluations, milestone reporting, and feedback. Engage in program quality improvement, annual program evaluation, and ACGME accreditation activities as required of Core Faculty. Maintain an active clinical practice that supports high‑quality patient care and serves as a foundation for teaching. Participate in scholarly activity consistent with ACGME expectations, such as research, quality improvement, or educational innovation. Model professionalism, ethical practice, and a supportive learning environment. Occasional DutiesSupervise and train internal medicine residents rotating through cardiology. Meet with ACGME during site visits. Provide requested information to program staff and/or program directors. Required QualificationsMD or DO with board certification in Cardiovascular Disease. Eligibility for medical licensure and clinical appointment. Demonstrated commitment to medical education and mentorship. Preferred QualificationsPrior teaching or academic experience preferred.
