Hardware Engineering Program Manager (Android XR)

Job Responsibilities : Manage development of Android XR glasses hardware platforms and drive the overall tactical execution and strategy of the team.Lead cross-functional teams to design, build, validate, and launch system solutionsManage development risks and issues to meet system build milestones, cost, and manufacturability.Drive product development processes and phase gate reviews with the cross-functional teams.Develop and manage program schedules and resource needs with engineering and operations teams.Communicate project status to stakeholders and leadership.Lead resolution on key technical issues.Interface with development partners and cross functional engineering and operations teams driving builds and managing build schedules, budgets, and performance.Proactively implement process improvements to streamline product development.Manage program budgetsInfluence and drive strategic JDM partner development efforts and establish long term partnerships.Minimum qualifications : BS degree in Engineering5 years of hardware engineering program management, team lead and/or product design engineering experience.Consumer Electronics hardware experienceExperience in product development and phase gate approachExperience in hardware NPI build managementAbility to travel internationally up to 20% as required.Preferred qualifications (in addition to minimum qualifications) : Note: Having as many of these specific qualifications is a plus, but transferable skills/experiences may be equally valuableExcellent written and oral communication skillsStrong team player and creative thinker who is able to lead technical teams, cross-functional groups, and vendors against plansFearless ability to jump in, drive several tasks at once, and generally do whatever it takes to ship a productExperience shipping high volume / high quality productStrong ability to capture the big picture quickly and focus on key pointsPassion for improving processes, plans, and all things that are simply brokenExcellent knowledge of product life cycle, tools, processes, and operations planning
