Materials CoordinatorThe Materials Coordinator manages the raw material process flow to ensure that safety, material cost, quality and production goals are accomplished. The position will develop methods to determine the lowest cost raw material forecast and work with both receiving and production teams to ensure material consumption meets the objective. This position will also assist in coordinating delivery to key customers and ensuring customer needs are achievedDevelop and implement materials planning best practices and procedures including business plans for raw material need, short/long range planning, materials capabilities according to industry standards and company objectives to ensure efficient, cost effective and quality product delivery to the internal/external customersDevelop, implement, track and ensure raw material inventory controls, levels and flow of materials are consistent with the business plan and forecasts to ensure customer need is metAbility to develop into the local subject matter expert of Matalco's least cost charge software of choice; provide insight and suggest improvements based on industry and practical process knowledgeDevelop key relationships with intracompany leaders to ensure the establishment of an effective cross functional team as it relates to the procurement, receipt, consumption and sustainability of optimal raw material flowCollect, enter, track, analyze, reconcile and report various data inputs from various sources, according to department expectations to ensure accurate and readily accessible data for the materials department and supply baseSupport and back-up logistics function/Logistics Manager. Develop comprehensive knowledge and practice of trailer management, scrap management at customer sites, order fulfillment and availabilityAssist in the development of departmental policies and procedures and implement solutions to increase performance and efficiency within applicable functional areasApply and provide accountability of all safety rules, participation in safety practices and wearing of PPE according to company standards in order to facility a safe working environment.
