Responsibilities Assist with patient care activities including vital signs, medication administration, and basic nursing procedures such as catheter care and aseptic techniques. Support patient mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts and assist with activities of daily living in settings such as assisted living, nursing homes, or home care. Document patient information accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks to ensure seamless medical documentation and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor patients’ physiological status by checking vital signs and observing for changes in condition, especially in critical environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers. Provide specialized care for patients with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or behavioral health needs within memory or behavioral health units. Assist healthcare professionals during procedures in outpatient clinics, surgical units, or urgent care settings while maintaining strict aseptic techniques. Support infectious disease control protocols and participate in patient education to promote health literacy and recovery. Requirements Valid certification as a CMA or CNA with current licensure or registration as required by state law. Experience working in diverse healthcare environments including hospitals, long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, or home & community care settings. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medical-surgical procedures essential for effective patient support. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical records management. Demonstrated ability to work with vulnerable populations including children, seniors, individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities. Critical care experience preferred; including ICU, trauma centers (Level I & II), emergency medicine, or post-acute care settings. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting patients with Hoyer lifts and standing for extended periods. Strong communication skills combined with a compassionate approach to patient service and caregiving.
