Position Summary The Front of House Shift Lead is responsible for leading the dining room during assigned shifts while working alongside the team to provide outstanding hospitality. This is a working leadership position that sets the pace for service, supports fellow team members, and helps ensure every guest has an exceptional experience. The Shift Lead leads by example, promotes teamwork, maintains restaurant standards, and communicates operational needs to management. This position is not responsible for hiring, firing, employee discipline, scheduling, or other management decisions. Essential ResponsibilitiesGuest Experience Deliver exceptional hospitality to every guest. Welcome guests and create a friendly, positive atmosphere. Resolve routine guest concerns professionally and escalate significant issues to management when necessary. Ensure food quality, presentation, and service meet eatery standards. Visit tables throughout service to ensure guest satisfaction. Shift Leadership Lead the front-of-house team during assigned shifts. Serve as a positive role model through professionalism and teamwork. Provide guidance and support to team members throughout service. Assist with maintaining smooth communication between the dining room, bar, and kitchen. Help maintain an efficient pace of service during busy periods. Operations Complete opening and closing procedures. Ensure side work and cleaning duties are completed properly. Monitor dining room cleanliness throughout the shift. Assist with cash handling procedures as assigned. Ensure restaurant policies and procedures are followed. Complete shift communication logs and report operational concerns to management. Team Support Assist in training new employees on restaurant standards and procedures. Answer questions and provide day-to-day guidance to team members. Encourage teamwork and maintain a positive work environment. Communicate performance concerns or operational issues to management. Food Safety & Cleanliness Follow all health department regulations and food safety standards. Ensure dining rooms, restrooms, service stations, and work areas remain clean and organized. Promote safe working practices at all times. Qualifications Previous restaurant experience required. Previous leadership experience preferred. Strong communication and guest service skills. Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving skills. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds. Success in This Role A successful Front of House Shift Lead will: Lead by example every shift. Create memorable guest experiences. Position Expectations The Front of House Shift Lead is expected to work alongside the team in a service role while providing leadership and support throughout each shift.
