A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity: RN - PCU Stepdown Job Details: • Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM • Every other weekend requirement • Minimum of 2 holidays required during contract timeframe • Patient ratio of 1:4-5 for both day and night shifts • Float to Med/Surg or ICU to take PCU acuity patients as needed • Must be competent in arterial lines • Required to titrate drips including Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin • Must read and interpret telemetry strips • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS • Navy blue scrub color requirement • Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove will result in contract termination • Must pass open book skills exam with 90% or higher during orientation • One day of unit-specific orientation provided • Must live outside 50-mile radius and not be employed with CommonSpirit facilities • Driver's license required at submittal • 30-minute response time required if called back from on-call status • Care for adult patients with cardiac med/surg, dialysis, cancer, vascular, sepsis, respiratory, stroke, post-stent, and renal failure diagnoses • Work with overhead lifts, portable lifts, vein finders, and bladder scanners • Use EPIC charting system • RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13-week contract) • Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment Facility: This healthcare organization operates a 40-bed Progressive Care Unit with an average daily census of 24 patients, serving as a Level 2 trauma center in an acute care setting.
