Master's Level Therapist (Mobile Crisis Response Team)

Work is primarily performed onsite at our location and out in the local community. SUMMARY Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) is a 24–hour resource for mental health and substance use crisis intervention. Our goals are to lessen crisis trauma, divert individuals from Emergency Rooms and traditional court systems, prevent unnecessary psychiatric hospitalizations and help identify a potential crisis in advance and assist with linkage to an outpatient provider. JOB FUNCTION Functions as a team member within a multi-agency team in the delivery of crisis intervention services. Provides initial screening and necessary triage for immediate response to mental health crisis calls for the purpose of evaluation, lethality/risk assessment and mental status examinations and determines necessary level of care to identified clients. Acts as a resource for local law enforcement agencies and local crisis hotlines. Ability to work in crisis situations and make clinical decisions with minimal direction. Capable of navigating telemedicine when indicated. Note: You may be required to drive your own personal vehicle while on duty. Mileage reimbursement is provided. Demonstrated ability to work independently and utilize sound clinical judgment. Familiar with Florida Baker Act laws. Preferred: Licensed in the State of Florida as a psychologist, social worker, mental health counselor, or marriage and family therapist and/or certification in the field of addictions. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to bend, lift a minimum of 30lbs., stretch, lower and raise self independently from floor. Ability to see and hear in emergency situations. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to travel locally. SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS Exposure to consumers and a variety of program conditions, which may include long, irregular hours, on-call duties, weekend hours, and local travel. Exposure to a wide range of community environments outside the agency including client homes, school, or other community locations.
