Successful outcomes start and finish with eNGINE.eNGINE is seeking a a skilled Java Developer to join our engineering team and help design, build, and maintain scalable microservices using Spring Boot. You'll work across the stack, contributing to backend services as well as collaborating on React-based front-end features, while working with SQL databases to design efficient data models and queries.What You'll Do:Design, develop, and maintain RESTful microservices using Java and Spring Boot.Build and consume APIs that power responsive, modern web applicationsCollaborate with front-end developers on React components and integrationsDesign and optimize SQL database schemas, queries, and stored proceduresParticipate in architecture discussions for distributed, microservices-based systemsWrite clean, testable, well-documented code following best practicesDebug, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues across servicesParticipate in code reviews and mentor junior developers as neededCollaborate with DevOps/QA teams to support CI/CD pipelines and automated testingContribute to technical design docs and participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonieesRequired Qualifications:3+ years of professional experience with JavaStrong hands-on experience with Spring Boot and the broader Spring ecosystem (Spring Data, Spring Security, Spring Cloud)Solid understanding of microservices architecture — service decomposition, inter-service communication, API design (REST/JSON)Experience with SQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) — schema design, query optimization, indexingWorking knowledge of React and modern JavaScript (ES6+) for front-end collaborationExperience with version control (Git) and CI/CD toolsFamiliarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) is a plusUnderstanding of message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ) is a plusStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environmentNice to Have:Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Familiarity with API gateways, service discovery, and distributed tracing toolsExposure to Test-Driven Development (TDD) and unit/integration testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito)Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
