Manufacturing Engineer designs and implements the process, procedures and equipment involved in the manufacturing process and is a key contributor to planning, measuring and improving quality through both short-term and long-term initiativesKey Areas of Responsibilities:Implements production processes & documents that increase efficiency, reduce cost and ensure safety. (Lean Projects)Participates in cross functional teams focused on product design improvements, new product design and field testing.Research automation techniques, testing new systems for efficiency and planning factory layouts to optimize production.Contribute to the design of tools, machinery or processes that increase productivity and efficiency.Implements process validation plans, performs process failure mode effect analysis, and prepares control plans for manufactured and vended products.Performs test plans for alternate materials, parts, tools or systems as necessary to introduce improvements.Writes engineering changes and deviations to document changes to form, fit or function of production parts or manufacturing processes.Evaluates returned goods for manufacturing defects, non-conformances, and product issues as needed. RMA ProcessesPerforms dimensional and functional review of manufactured and purchased parts.Identifies continuous improvement project opportunities with respect to our customers’Leads continuous improvement projects, activities and teamsAssists with the identification, implementation, and development KPIs, metrics, and reportsDesigns and sources Jigs/gauges and other methods for both existing and new products and processesRepresents the Manufacturing function on New Product Development teams as neededAssists in the Work Instructions and other Documentation maintenance for the Quality Management System (QMS)Communicates with internal and external customers escalations, help solve problems as needs arise; lead cross-functional efforts to identify root causes and implement appropriate corrective actionsInterfaces with suppliers to improve purchases, part-income quality levels, managing SCAR’s with Vendors if requiredValidate accuracy of Bills of Material and other key aspects of Product Data ManagementKey Performance Indicators:Develops procedures to solve standard problems; analyses information and standard practices to make judgments.Accountable for developing technical skills and contribution to the team.Demonstrates interpersonal skills to support others.Works in partnership with multiple departments.Demonstrates flexibility & adaptability to keep up with Continuous improvement techniques and technologies.Performance against KPI’s of which the QE has direct control or substantial influenceNature and number of internal and external audit findings in areas the QE has direct control of substantial influenceEffective use of tools and equipmentFollowing procedures and accurately documenting resultsCompleting work assignments on a timely basisKey Challenges and Decisions:Learning new concepts, materials and technology that impact the manufacturability of product.Understanding and applying solutions considering the broader competitive marketplace and its technological advancements.Leading continuous improvement effortsImplementation of a QMS will require ability to evaluate and recommend standards and processesThis list of responsibilities is not exhaustive. Other duties may be required to be undertaken which fall within the scope and general level of responsibility attached to the role.What you will need to succeed:Education & Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing and industrial engineering2-3 years of manufacturing process or manufacturing production experience.1-2 years of experience as a QA Engineer (as a plus)Lean Six Sigma Training – Preferred Green Belt levelExperience using CAD and/or CAE Software is a plus Experience with Oracle / SAP is a plusExperience creating SOP’s, Work/Job instructionsExperience in structuring Bill of Materials and ECO management (as a plus)Experience with specifying, supporting and troubleshooting automation equipment and ancillary components (PLC, Sensors, Actuators, Etc.) is a plus.Good analytical and problem-solving skills.Good computer skills at Microsoft OfficeGood interpersonal/customer relation skills.Strong experience leading lean transformation projects and initiativesDemonstrated success leading both large and small quality improvement projects and initiativesEffective written and verbal communication skillsGood organizational skills and ability to multi-taskAbility to read and interpret blueprintsAbility to use calibrated gauges, tools, and fixtures and design special functional gaugesCompensation: SalariedTravel:10-15%Location:KineticoPro, Suwanee, GAPhysical RequirementsFrequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.Frequent lifting of up-to 50 pounds and maneuvering up-to 100 pounds with a dolly.Occasional lifting up-to 125 pounds.Ability to use hand tools and work with small parts.
