Job Description POSITION DESCRIPTIONShift LeaderShift Leader - How you bring value:Our Shift Leaders deliver the Burger King experience to both our crew members and customers. They lead by coaching during shifts, creating a safe space for communication, and engaging and understanding crew members specific work needs. Shift Leaders report to the General Manager. Shift Leaders support General Managers and Assistant Managers in managing the restaurant with a variety of tasks such as food safety and sanitation, consistency of standards, and training and supervision of Team Members.ResponsibilitiesServes as a resource and coach to crew members; supports a positive crew member experience, aligns the team around a common vision, provides effective coaching, sets realistic expectations and goals, and celebrates successesSupports the shift by communicating and ensuring compliance with expectations for food safety, cleanliness, safety, production, and resolving customer issues Maintains a clean, neat, and organized restaurant in line with brand standards and food safety, workplace safety, and time tracking protocols to better serve our customers and crew membersDemonstrates ownership for growing crew members' skills through training and establishing effective feedback mechanismsDirects the activity and performance of crew members in the areas of customer service, sales, and food production according to all safety and operating standards Demonstrates appreciation for the contribution of crew members by recognizing best work through celebrating and sharing success storiesProvides support in implementing change initiatives and feedback on progress and issuesRun shifts in the absence of a Manager and/or General ManagerBuilds strong relationships and partners with the restaurant leadership team Supports all crew members to own the customer experience, through friendly, respectful, and engaging customer serviceMonitors all areas of expense or potential loss, including inventory control, labor, accidents, property, and equipment damageRecommends solutions to problems and takes corrective action in partnership with the General Manager and ManagersOther duties as assignedREQUIREMENTS: Typical minimum requirements to perform the job.AGEMust be at least 18 years of ageEducationHigh school diploma/GED or equivalent work experienceExperience and Demonstrated Behaviors and AbilitiesDemonstrated ability to coach, motivate, and inspire crew members Demonstrated ability to communicate and maintain an effective working relationship with management and co-workersDemonstrated ability to work in a team environmentStrong general knowledge of the organization and its functionsStrong general knowledge of working practices, procedures, and techniquesProfessional CertificationsFood Safety Certification (may vary based on city, county, and state requirements) Food Handlers CertificationWorking Conditions/Travel RequirementsMust be able to report to work in a timely manner as required by operational/business needsMust be able to work a full-time schedule and be able to work all shifts based on operational needs of the restaurantMust be able to travel occasionallyMust be able to work overtime if required based on operational need of the restaurant Must possess a valid drivers license, submit to releasing a Motor Vehicle Record that adheres to standards, and maintain current automobile liability at minimum levels in their state of residencePhysical RequirementsMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs.Must be able to stand during entire shift.
