Job Title: Ocean Export CoordinatorLocation: Chicago, ILIndustry: Freight Forwarding / LogisticsAbout the Role:We are seeking an experienced Ocean Export Coordinator to join a growing international freight forwarding company in the Chicago area. This position is responsible for handling end-to-end ocean export shipments while ensuring exceptional customer service, compliance, and operational efficiency.Key Responsibilities:Manage FCL & LCL ocean export shipments from booking through final deliveryCoordinate with steamship lines, trucking companies, warehouses, and overseas agentsPrepare and process export documentation including Bills of Lading, AES filings, commercial invoices, and shipping instructionsTrack and trace shipments while proactively updating customersEnsure compliance with FMC and international export regulationsHandle rate quotations, billing, invoicing, and shipment profitabilityResolve shipment delays, discrepancies, and operational issues in a timely mannerMaintain accurate shipment records within CargoWise or internal systemsBuild strong relationships with customers, carriers, and overseas partnersRequirements:2+ years of ocean export experience within freight forwarding/logisticsStrong understanding of ocean export documentation and complianceExperience handling FCL/LCL shipmentsKnowledge of AES filings, Incoterms, and international shipping proceduresCargoWise experience preferredStrong communication, multitasking, and organizational skillsCustomer-focused mindset with the ability to work in a fast-paced environmentWhat’s Offered:Full benefits packageGrowth opportunities within a stable global logistics companyCollaborative team environmentPTO and 401(k)If you or someone in your network may be interested, feel free to reach out for more information.
