With a nationwide footprint and opportunities for growth across multiple locations and disciplines, SPL is a place where you can build a career while making a real-world impact.We're seeking a motivated Laboratory Technician to prepare and analyze solid and semi-solid environmental samples, including soil, sludge, and sediment, within our fast-paced environmental testing laboratory in Conroe, TX.This is an exciting opportunity for a laboratory professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and enjoys hands-on analytical testing, sample preparation, and producing accurate, high-quality data in support of environmental compliance and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and motivated by supporting daily laboratory operations, quality initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts within a collaborative team environment.What You’ll DoPerform sample preparation, extractions, digestions, and analytical testing of environmental samplesPrepare solid and semi-solid matrices for analysis, including soil, sludge, sediment, and related environmental samplesPerform routine laboratory calculations, documentation, and data review activitiesReview, validate, and document analytical data within LIMS and escalate discrepancies or abnormal findings as neededOperate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instrumentation in accordance with established proceduresSupport laboratory quality systems, QA/QC programs, audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiativesMaintain organized, accurate, and compliant laboratory records and documentationCollaborate with laboratory staff to meet turnaround times, productivity goals, and client expectationsPerform additional duties as assignedRequirementsWhat We're Looking ForBachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related scientific discipline; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degreeDemonstrated hands-on analytical laboratory experience, preferably within an environmental testing laboratoryPrior hands-on experience with laboratory instrumentation preferredProficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook)Experience with LIMS systems is a plus, but not requiredWhat We OfferCompetitive compensationMedical, dental, and vision coverage401(k) with company matchEmployer-paid life, AD&D, and disability insurancePaid time off, sick leave, and paid holidaysPaid parental leaveEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Tuition reimbursement and professional development supportWork ScheduleFull-time, onsite positionFlexibility to work beyond standard hours as operational needs requireOur Commitment to Diversity & InclusionAt SPL, we believe that a diverse team is a strong team.
