Manager, Systems Engineering

Shutterfly is looking for a Manager for the Enterprise Technology team. This person will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of the systems and services our team supports. The tech lead and manager will also lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT solutions, using PowerShell and scripting, Active Directory, Windows servers, O365, Azure, Entra AD and more. The tech lead and manager will report to the Director of IT and will manage a team of IT engineers and analysts.
This position is based out of our Eden Prairie, MN office. This role will be on-site 5 days a week for up to the first six months with possibly opportunity to go hybrid.
What You'll Do Here:
Oversee the IT Operations team, including recruitment, training, mentoring, and evaluating performance.
Supervise teams handling Infrastructure such as Linux, Windows, backups, storage, and VMware.
Interface with Off-shore teams supporting off-hours operations for Infrastructure support.
Maintain the IT infrastructure to ensure it is dependable, scalable, secure, and adheres to industry standards and best practices.
Identify and resolve issues within IT systems and services using a variety of tools and strategies.
Direct and carry out IT initiatives like migrations, updates, integrations, and process automation.
Offer technical expertise and assistance to the IT Operations staff and other IT divisions, utilizing PowerShell, scripting, Active Directory, Windows servers, O365, Azure, Entra AD among others.
Develop and enforce IT procedures, protocols, and records.
Administer the IT budget and relationships with vendors.
Keep abreast of emerging IT developments and technologies to propose enhancements and innovations.
Provide support for Linux systems, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and security.
Manage and monitor the pure and hatachi san storage systems, ensuring optimal performance, capacity, and availability.
Implement and maintain backup and recovery solutions, using technologies such as Veeam, Commvault, and Netbackup.
Coordinate with 3rd party support on dell hardware issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal downtime.
The Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems or related field, or equivalent work experience.
At least 5-7 years of experience in IT operations, including managing a team.
Strong knowledge and experience in PowerShell and scripting, Active Directory, Windows servers (of various OS versions), O365, Azure, Entra AD and more.
Experience in cloud computing, virtualization, backup and recovery, and network administration.
Experience in Linux administration, pure and Hitachi SAN storage management, and dell hardware support.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
Certifications in Microsoft, Azure, Linux, or other relevant technologies are preferred.
