Production Supervisor
Production Supervisor (Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 2-2-3 Schedule)Scope of PositionThe Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of shift operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role oversees hourly team members, drives continuous improvement initiatives, ensures compliance with safety and quality standards, and collaborates cross-functionally to meet operational goals. The supervisor serves as the primary point of accountability for shift performance, employee engagement, and adherence to company policies and procedures.ResponsibilitiesLead, coach, and motivate shift employees to achieve production, safety, and quality objectives.Supervise daily operations, including problem resolution and performance management, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.Promote a proactive safety culture by conducting audits, ensuring compliance, and leading incident investigations, including near-miss (“close call”) reporting.Ensure all products meet established quality specifications and that standard operating procedures are consistently followed.Train and develop employees on company procedures, emphasizing safety, quality, and productivity.Collaborate with Human Resources on payroll, employee relations, staffing, and labor matters.Partner with peer supervisors to ensure effective communication during shift transitions and alignment on operational priorities.Manage shift performance to meet or exceed production targets while minimizing scrap and waste.Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to processes, equipment, and materials in coordination with maintenance and technical support teams.QualificationsBachelor’s degree preferred; Six Sigma certification is a plus.Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment; union experience preferred.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems quickly.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proven ability to build strong working relationships with hourly employees, leadership, and cross-functional teams.Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs (or more as needed) and regularly stand, walk, and move throughout the facility.
