Overview: We are a small-to-medium sized family-owned business with locations across the mid-west. Our focus within the company is in various aspects of the agriculture industry. Sectors such as: retail to the farmer, chemical storage, finance, and wholesale. As a business in farming, we have seasons. In the Information Technology side, there is a busy season when the farmers are out of the fields and a less busy season when the farmers are in the field. As a small-to-medium sized business, we operate at the highest efficiency we can maintain. We are looking for someone who can excel or has willingness to excel in various aspects of the Information Technology world at Kova in our small IT team. The renaissance technologist here would be expected to handle networking tasks, desktop support for staff, scripting/automation, various operating systems experience (Windows, Linux, FreeBSD) – basically, take on what is needed to keep us going proactively and reactively. There are after-hours tasks to be done here and there – mostly where appropriate. Traveling is minimal between sites. This is an on-site position Knowledge areas that will aid this position: Active Directory administration, beyond basic networking skills, proficiency in Linux, understanding of a programming language or two (EG: Ruby, Powershell, Python, Bash), experience with Cisco or Juniper command line, ESXi experience, efficacious at documenting procedures, construction – power tool skills Infrastructure and Network engineer – able to plan out new sites, subnets, technology needed, firewall logistics Day-to-Day Operations may include: End-user support: Windows desktop, printers, email, networking issues Active Directory management, Group Policy management Phone system support – VOIP, SIP, Digital Linux administration Programming and diagnosing of Cisco/Juniper/Ubiquiti - switch/router/wifi devices Dell Server/ESXi maintenance Scripting and automating tasks Documenting technical process Managing any alerts or tasks that come into the help desk Backups management Additional Pluses: Problem solver – you know, like Sherlock Holmes Attentive to detail Able to work at heights above the ground: 20 – 50ft Able to lift 45 pounds overhead Pull and wire networking cable Passionate about working and adapting with new technologies Frugal Organized Humble At the end of the day: Your mission, should you choose to accept it: ‘To provide the company with a stable working infrastructure, secure from cyber threats; while keeping up-to-date with the latest technology trends, and implementing new ideas that better serve the company through a team of capable, professional, individuals.’ Job Type: Full-time Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) Health insurance Paid time off Schedule: Monday to Friday Ability to Commute: Greensburg, IN 47240 (Preferred) Ability to Relocate: Greensburg, IN 47240: Relocate before starting work (Preferred) Work Location: In person
