We are a small nonprofit that works to support our local food system and make good food accessible. We tend around half an acre of vegetables, herbs and flowers for a free CSA and by-donation Farmstand. We manage a Community Garden and collaborate with other nonprofits to make garden space and resources available to our refugee neighbors. We work hard, have lots of fun, and take pride in growing beautiful food.Job DescriptionHello community members! We are looking for someone who is passionate about food accessibility and community resilience to join our farm team. Do you have a couple years of experience growing food and a basic knowledge of organic, non-invasive growing techniques? Do you have a passion for social justice? Do you have leadership experience (or interest in developing some)? Join Moonscape Farm as our new Assistant Lead Grower!We use low-till organic agricultural methods. This means managing weeds and pests by hand and lots of emphasis on compost, mulch, and soil health. You will be participating in all aspects of food production and guiding the field crop team in the absence of the lead grower.Work is between 30-40 hours a week, Monday-Friday, mid-April-November.
