On-Call Public Safety/Security Officers (Daytime/Weekends)

SOME (So Others Might Eat) is currently seeking an On-call Public Safety (Security Officers) to join our Public Safety department on O Street in NW Washington, DC. This is a PRN role to support the program for shift coverage as needed.
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday: 6:00 AM 10:00 AM and Saturday and Sunday: 7:00 AM 12:00 PM (Work as needed/PRN)
Location: 60 & 71 O Street NW, Washington, DC - SOME Dining Room & SOME Headquarters
Qualifications
Required: HS Diploma or GED; 3-5 yrs. Public Safety/Security experience; experience providing services to the homeless
Required License/Certification: CPR/First Aid certification

Expected Contributions: Public Safety
Ensure SOME "O" Street locations are safe and clients receive services in a secure environment
Provide conflict mitigation and de-escalate conflict between clients and/or staff without the use of force
Document information to be used to develop and file incident reports for medical or police issues
Issue barring notices as needed
Contact police when conflict escalates or violent behavior is exhibited by the client
Develop positive working relationships with the police
Monitor security cameras and the perimeter of the buildings
Maintain daily security log
Enforce rules consistently for all clients and guests
Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds. May be required to sit or stand for long periods. Must be able to move around all levels/floors of the building.
